The cleaned and quality-assured bricks are stacked on pallets and stored in our warehouse ready for use in a new building.
When the developer is ready to start a new construction, the bricks are ready. We deliver the cleaned, CE-marked recycled bricks directly to the building site – packaged and on pallets. Building sustainably doesn’t get any easier.
Cleaned old bricks are characterised by their rustic surface, which is the result of the demolition and cleaning process. The colours vary greatly, giving the brickwork its unique character and play of colours, which is also typically what the customer falls in love with.
Our machine-cleaned bricks often originate from buildings from 1900-1960. They are fired in an old-fashioned coal-fired kiln, where the uneven heat has contributed to the bricks’ unique colour combinations. The bricks closest to the heat source became the darkest. The bricks are usually made entirely of pure clay, with no added sand, sawdust or colouring, so it’s a quality material that ends up on building site.
On the other hand, you may be surprised at how the bricks look on the pallets delivered to the construction site, compared to the finished brickwork you have compared to in the decision phase. There are bricks with lime or paint residues, and the different surfaces (soft, smooth, embossed) and the shades are side-by-side on the pallets. Fear not though, there are few things you need to do to get the best look with your brickwork.
Gamle Mursten stacks just like new bricks with 320 bricks per pallet/80 bricks per head. Number of bricks per m2: 64-65 bricks.
