Used bricks can be part of an Urban Mining agreement

Quality-approved used bricks that meet the requirements for a CE mark can be included in an Urban Mining agreement; here we store the cleaned and packaged CE-marked bricks at our brick warehouse until the developer wants them delivered to the building site for a new building.

Terms of an Urban Mining Agreement

We offer an Urban Mining agreement based on the terms below. A number of documents need to be completed and agreements be in place:

Written agreement for Gamle Mursten Tech to extract and test bricks. The developer pays the costs.
Written agreement that Gamle Mursten will collect material after demolition at no cost. It is carried out on the basis of photographs or an inspection of the demolished bricks (to ensure that they are neither crushed nor mixed fraction). Before this can happen, environmental screening/a clean-up must be completed.
The tender text for demolition must include conditions for careful demolition and sorting, and the bricks must be loaded onto lorries at no cost to Gamle Mursten ApS.
